Terms of Service

Last updated:

1. About Zento Menu

Zento Menu is a hosted service for creating digital restaurant menus, sharing table QR codes and managing guest orders. These terms govern use of the service at zento.menu. The service is operated by:

Martin Schwieters
Solinger Straße 9
40227 Düsseldorf
Germany
info@zento.menu

By creating an account or using Zento Menu, you agree to these terms. If you act for a restaurant or another organisation, you must have authority to act on its behalf.

2. Accounts and access

Provide accurate account information, keep your sign-in details secure and only give access to authorised staff. You are responsible for activity under your account and for managing staff access. Contact info@zento.menu promptly if you suspect unauthorised access.

3. Your menus and restaurant operations

You retain ownership of the menus, images and other content you upload. You give us permission to store, display and process that content as needed to provide the service. You must have the rights to use it and ensure it is lawful and accurate, including prices, taxes, allergen information and other required food information.

Restaurants are responsible for accepting, preparing and fulfilling guest orders, taking payment for food and drink, and handling related customer complaints and refunds. Zento Menu provides the software; it does not sell or supply the restaurant’s food or drink. An order shown in Zento is not confirmation that payment has been collected.

Do not use the service for unlawful content, infringement, fraud, unsolicited advertising or attempts to access another restaurant’s data, disrupt the service or bypass security or plan limits.

4. Free and paid plans

The Free plan and the features and limits of each plan are described on our pricing page. A paid plan is available only when checkout is enabled. No paid subscription starts merely by creating a Free account.

When available, Zento Menu Plus is a monthly subscription that renews automatically until cancelled. The amount, currency, applicable taxes and billing interval are displayed before you confirm a purchase. No trial is included unless expressly offered at checkout.

Paid subscriptions are sold by Paddle as our merchant of record and authorised reseller. Paddle handles payment processing, receipts, subscription billing and refunds. Purchases are also subject to the Paddle Buyer Terms. These Zento terms govern use of the software; Paddle’s terms govern your purchase from Paddle. If these service terms conflict with Paddle’s purchase terms on a payment, cancellation or refund, Paddle’s purchase terms govern that transaction, without limiting mandatory rights.

5. Cancellation and refunds

You can cancel a paid subscription through the Paddle customer portal linked in your purchase email, or request cancellation at paddle.net. You can also contact info@zento.menu for help.

Cancellation stops future renewals and normally takes effect at the end of the current paid billing period. It does not by itself refund a payment already made. Refund requests and statutory withdrawal rights are explained in our Refund Policy.

6. Availability, changes and support

We maintain and improve the service, but uninterrupted or error-free availability cannot be guaranteed. Maintenance and technical incidents may temporarily affect access. Keep copies of information that is essential to your restaurant’s operations and have an alternative way to take orders during an outage.

We may update features and these terms. We will give reasonable notice of material changes affecting an existing paid subscription and explain when they take effect. Price changes will be notified before renewal, with consent obtained where required by law. Changes do not remove rights relating to an earlier purchase.

For technical support, contact info@zento.menu.

7. Suspension and ending your account

We may restrict access where reasonably necessary to address unlawful use, a serious breach of these terms or a security risk. Where possible, we will explain the reason and allow you to remedy the issue before suspending access.

You can request account closure and deletion at info@zento.menu. Cancelling a subscription and deleting an account are separate actions: cancel any active subscription before closing your account. Data handling after closure is explained in the Privacy Policy.

8. Responsibility and applicable law

We remain liable without limitation for intentional misconduct, gross negligence, injury to life, body or health, and any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. For ordinary negligence involving an essential contractual obligation, liability is limited to foreseeable damage typical for this type of agreement. Otherwise, liability for ordinary negligence is excluded to the extent permitted by law.

German law applies to these service terms. If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of mandatory protections or court rights available under the law of your country of residence. Paddle’s purchase terms contain their own applicable-law provisions. Nothing in these terms limits mandatory consumer rights.
